[Icom] Get with it Icom!

Does anyone have the same feelings as me? I have
owned several Icom HTs, including the T8 and T81, and
have recently considered buying either the V8 or the
T2. Icom seems to have some quirks in their HTs which
are majorly annoying.
First, they have high power and low power, but nothing
in between. The High power is great, but kills the
battery in less than an hour. The low power is too
low to be useful most of the time. So you run on hi
power and eat the battery. For example, the V8 is
either 5.5 watts or .5 watts. I owned a Yaesu VX150
for awhile, and it had a mid setting of 2 watts, which
was great. Could get into most repeaters, and still
have some battery life. Just picked up a used Icom
3SAT, and it had a mid power setting. Wish the new
HTs would go back to this.
Second, none of the new HTs can be run directly off of
12 volts. You have to buy some sort of adaptor, and
never could get the T8a and T81 to run right off of
the cigarette lighter. Icom started this feature with
the 02AT series, and I wish they would return to it.
Seems like Yaesu is getting it right on these
features, and Icom is missing. How can we get through
to Icom to include these things. Oh, and wish they
would introduce a 222 HT in their lineup. Every other
manufacture has one.
