Joe;
What I used to mount the control head in my 2001 Nissan Altima was Heavy
Duty "velcro", which is not really the typical stuff. This Heavy Duty
stuff has a very aggressive double sided foam tape on the strips. Each
strip is identical in nature where by there is no "hook & loop". This
stuff is great and I haven't had a problem with it at all. As for
penetrating your firewall, can't help you there. I was lucky to find a
knock-out plug which I just drilled a 1/2" hole and ran my wires thru it.

Subject: [Icom] MB-65 for IC-706 in 2002 Plymouth Minivan
I got a new IC-706MK2G at Dayton this year. Nice radio and I am thinking
about putting in my 2002 Plymouth minivan. The question is has anyone used
the IC-65 mounting base in this type of minivan?
The dash has curves in it. I don't want to drill holes in it, but
hopefully
this mount will stick on. The Icom website doesn't give much information.
BTW they gave away the remote head kit with the radio, so I think all I
need
is this MB-65.
Also wonder if anyone has a way to get to the battery?
Thanks
