[Icom] IC756 Pro tuner

I'm trying to help a friend with his Viewstar Amplifier.   He has the
756Pro II.  I have the 756Pro.   It appears that when connecting the
Pro or Pro II to the antenna (Inverted V resonant at 3995)  through
the amplifier (switched Off) the Pro's tuner  will intermittently
turn on and go into the seek mode.  Is it the reactive component of
the relay fooling the tuner?  I suppose obtaining a good match with
the tuner then switching it off would solve the problem, but then
I've never seen this before.  The Amplifier has not been turned on
and the relay within has not been switched for this test.
