[Icom] Recommendation on IC-207H?

My wife has had one in her car for over 5 years now. It has never given
us any problems and she is very happy with it.

One question you need to answer is: do you want a true dual bander, or
is the "twin band" (one freq. at a time) adequate for your needs?

As I said, my wife likes the relative simplicity of the 207 vs my
IC-2710 or TM-D700. However, with the public service events and ARES
activities I support, I need the full dual band capability to monitor 2
frequencies at once, both within the same band if needed, cross band
repeat, and, with the D700, integrated APRS operations. In fact, on some
events I run both radios in my jeep at the same time.

If you don't need these capabilities (or have other means of
accomplishing the same thing) then the 207H is a very good radio, and a
good value.

Hope this helps, 73
