[Icom] ICOM ic756 screensaver?

Good questions. A "saver" would be a super useful addition to the radios (or
did I miss it in the manuals or on the reflectors?). ...Have it menu settable;
kicks off, say, when the processor sees movement of the (tuning) encoder. This
doesn't seem like a major software stretch to drop the backlight level to zero
but don't know if it would require any hardware changes..
With the original '756, (still have one), I run the display contrast at 50% and
the backlight at 40% and do have it on for extended periods (the nature of six
m. requires constant monitoring). So far, no problems (crossing fingers, toes,
etc. :-) ).
