[Icom] comments on buying a used HF rig

I agree with most of what is said here, with one
exception. The pieces of gear which I have bought
from individuals have all worked very well also. I am
not disagreeing with the poster, just stating that my
experiences have been different. This doesn't mean
that there aren't individuals who will sell you gear
that has problems, or who will purposefully rip you
off, but I just haven't had that experience, and have
bought many pieces of gear from individuals, and will
continue to do so. This includes buying it over the
internet, sight unseen.

I did get a piece of bad gear from one ham vendor, who
instead of repairing it just refunded my money. Not
bad, but I really wanted the radio instead. Wasn't
able to find another comparable radio in my price
range at that time.
