[Icom] UT-102 not working correctly

Indeed there is a button to do just that; but it sure doesn't highlight it
in the manual. Had to read very carefully before finding it as a rather
obscure reference.

hi,
I am not familiar with the 706 but if it is like the 718 you have to push a
button and hold it for it to read all of the information.  On the ic 718
push and hold the lock button for a second.  This procedure is differrent
for differrent radios so check your owners manual.
