[Icom] UT-102 not working correctly

hi,
I am not familiar with the 706 but if it is like the 718 you have to push a
button and hold it for it to read all of the information.  On the ic 718
push and hold the lock button for a second.  This procedure is differrent
for differrent radios so check your owners manual.

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone has come up against any problems with the
102 voice synth for the 706MKIIG?  I installed mine correctly went into the
main set-up menu activated it every which way and all I get is voice on mode
only.  The unit is supposed to give freq,sig strength, and mode.  I think i
just got a bum chip and will return it. But I wanted to see if anyone has
