[Icom] Parts

Hi Again folks,

Most people have no idea how nice it is to pick up the phone and call Icom
in WA and order parts that are actually available.

I called and ordered a bunch of parts for the Icom 761 this PM and it was
so nice to order some knobs at 3.50 each and screws, transistors, diodes
etc that are dirt cheap and they had them.

I was used to trying to obtain parts for 40 and 50 year old Collins and
paying rip off prices if you could even find someone willing to sell you a
part.

Examples, main tuning knob 150.00 to 175.00, small knobs 40.00 to 50.00
each, S meter 100.00, pots, 35.00 to 40.00 ea, tubes 20.00 and up, set of
interconnecting cables 100.00.

It is just nice to be in the digital age.....
