[Icom] Cap Question

Hi Folks,

OK, I hate to ask this question but can anyone tell me what a barrier layer
capacitor is?

I need to replace a couple on the RF board and they look like plain old
ceramic disk types but the service manual calls them Barrier Layer.

Please don't everyone die laughing.  Remember, I am a Collins and Drake
convert.
