Hi Gang,
I have 2 756Pro's and 2 756PRO II's 2 IC 706 Mark II G's and a IC 7400 (IC
746 PRO) all from a dealer in Japan and no, Icom America will not service
them so I was told by Icom either in or out of warr..
Why so many? Well, if one breaks down, I will send it to Japan and I still
have a spare. The shipping via EMS is not all that bad... EMS is USPS
Express Mail Service for those that are wondering.
From the time we agreed on a trade or price, it took about 4 days to get
here and this is Arkansas....

Hi,
Japanese domestic radio is little different from U.S. model. Model no.
differs, manual is in
Japanese, etc. Price is just about same. If you really want to get one
from JA land, you
can personally shop at Akihabara or ask one of your JA ham buddy to get
one and ship it
to you. I have done it few times in the past. I understand basic
Japanese which may be a
plus for me. I doubt Icom U.S. will honor the JA warranty tho.
