[Icom] 746PRO Problem

Howdy all, I was wondering if anyone else has noticed a problem with the
Noise Reduction on their 746PRO. What I have noticed is after I set the NR,
the receiver is perfect with the signals coming in strong and just the right
amount of white noise, but after a few minutes, the white noise starts to
climb in volume until it is quite loud and overpowering any signal that was
there. I can reset it by keying the mic or turning the NR off and then back
on. I really like the feature, when it works, but have been forced to leave
it off. Only other problem I've noticed is the frequency display is slightly
out of alignment on two meters. Other than those two items, I really like the
radio as it is a big improvement over what I had previously been using.
I just wish that for once I could buy a product and not have to send it back
in for warranty service. In the past, I've had to send both, a Yaesu and ADI
two meter transceivers back in almost immediately for service after they were
delivered, hooked up, and found to act screwy.
It must just be my luck as a few weeks ago, I ordered a bean burrito from
Taco Bell, bit into it only to have a sliver of metal poke my gums. No, I
haven't walked under ladders or broken any mirrors lately!
Anyway, any others out there have this problem with their new PRO?

John W4PRZ
