Hi Barry,

You will not be disappointed with the 706. It's a great little rig.

The autotuner AH4 is superb. I just got one and love it.

The antenna you use will depend on the space available. You want to get it up as 
high as you can in the air, but it will work at any height. You just get more signal 
out if it's higher up.

For a simple all band antenna that works really well, if you have about 120 feet of 
space, you shopuld consider using a "windom."
Not really a windom because you feed it with coax.

This is an off-center-fed horizontal wire. I am told they work great.
I am putting up a horizontal loop myself.
