[Icom] 756pro timer

Hi Bill,
Well, about 15 months ago, my IC-756Pro developed a minor problem. The
Dual-Watch
Balance pot went open.
I put the radio on my lab bench, opened the case and was able to
troubleshoot
down to component level, with the help of the service manual. It really
wasn't
that bad, navigating around the inside of the Pro with a DVM (and a
magnifying lamp).
The Icom Canada service centre in Ladner, BC repaired the rig. It was
still under warranty, otherwise I would have probably done the repair
myself.
A Rockwell Collins HF-9500 would probably compete quite well with the Pro -
but at > 30 times the price!
Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Hello All,
Ref my post about the timer. That was the problem. Thanks for all the help.
Like I said before, Collins and Drake I understand but this is one rig that
I would be afraid to even take the cover off of.
The Collins boys would probably send long black cars after me for saying
this but I never knew how many stations I was missing in the qrm and noise
until I got the PRO. On the PRO they are Q 5 and on the Collins, not even
there.
Thanks again
