[Icom] Problem with CT-17

John,
I'm not sure what Icom has done to make this level converter. Basically
the computer voltage is too high +/- 12V and the radio (CI-V bus) wants
+5V so you could look for the loss of voltage in your CT-17.

There are several plans out there to homebrew your own at a very low
cost $10.00 or so.

My point is, I wouldn't spend a lot to fix it.

I'm in the process of having a circuit board designed by FAR Circuits
that they will offer for $4.50. I do not financially profit from this
project, just hams helping hams. The circuit is actually designed by
another ham. I hope to keep the cost under $10.00 total for a kit.
73' and good luck

Subject: [Icom] Problem with CT-17

I just got a new computer. Now am having problem with CT-17..
I follow Icom's directions..All goes well..That is until I apply power
to the CT-17.
Before I apply power, the two radios and PW-1 function perfectly. After
applying
power, the radios do not communicate with each other or the PW-1. Also,
I can
not see freq.,mode, etc. on logging program anymore. This all used to
work very well.

Have I cooked the CT-17? What usually fails?
