Hi Brian,

My apologies for not being very helpful. Never having owned an IC-746, I
never thought of the ANT1/ANT2 issue. I also should have realised that when
the AH-3, AH-4 or other coupler is plugged into the 4-pin Molex, the
internal ATU is automatically disabled - unless the radio is faulty.

Thanks to the kind assistance of a knowledge radio amateur on this list I
NOW
have the AH4 WORKING with the 746.

The key is to hook it to ANT 1 and not ANT 2.
