[Icom] IC-207 head & cloning cable questions

Hello Icom users,
   Recently got a used IC-W32a with the cloning cable and software, and
am very impressed with what it will do.   Also have a IC-207, and went
looking at catelogs for the cable and software for it.   What a shock.  
The OPC-646 cable is about $85.00.   I don't need it anywhere near that
bad.
   My IC-207 came with the OPC-600 remote head cable which I haven't 
used to this point.   I got to thinking, wonder if I could use this to
build myself a cloning cable?   Does anyone know what is involved in the
OPC-646 cloning cable, have a schematic or data on it?   Maybe it has the
same circuitry as my IC-W32a cloning cable, just different ends on it?  
I'd be interested what is known on this Icom users net.
