For a control program, Bill, consider Commander; its free and available
via www.qsl.net/dxlab .
The most inexpensive way to try PC control is to build the interface
yourself; the circuit at http://www.qsl.net/civ_commander/interface.jpg
can be built from a few dollars worth of Radio Shack parts. There are
also some lower-cost (compared to Icom's CT17) pre-built alternatives,
e.g. http://home.att.net/~k1nu/k1nu/Products/control.html .

Hello Folks,
I am looking for an Icom CT 17 interface. I hate to buy a new one as I
am not sure if PC control is for for me or not. Anything out there.
Also looking for control program, no luck yet on finding anything.
Thanks,
