[Icom] Problem with ICOM HM-56 hand mic

Someone once told me that the HM-56 Icom mic had a small battery inside. They 
said a dead bat in this mic cud cause the associated ICOM

 radio to Xmit as soon as the mic was connected, IE before the mic's PTT 
switch is depressed. I looked inside the mic and cud not find a battery. Any 
thoughts ?
