Makes no difference if in your back yard or down the block.. Also the
power companies are losing power in those spots and it saves the money
in the long run..

While we are on the subject of mobile noise I wonder if an amateur
operator
would get anywhere complaining to local utility companies about power
line
noise when out driving around. This is the primary source of noise on my
IC
706 mkII G. It's awful with in 500 yards of where I live and in various
areas when I am mobile. I bet the FCC wouldn't be as quick to defend us
on
this one. Although certain members have suggested that if we want to
operate and are the victim of a CCand R we should do it mobile. Any
thoughts?
