Phil, I have an early model PW-1, and either you are incorrect or I did not
understand what you are attempting to communicate. THe only difference i am
aware of is whether one can operate barefoot without having the amplifier on
(standby). I do have a ProII and formerly had the Pro, and I find no
difference whatsoever using them with the early model PW-1. You are correct
that the early models cannot be retrofitted. I could have traded out for
the later model for $400 difference, but just did not see anything to be
gained that even approached being worth that difference. My PW1 is right up
on the oerating desk, and I do not find the fan noise, what little there is,
to be obtrusive. Anyway, I would be interested in what you were trying to
say just in case it is something I need to know, but have not stumbled onto
as yet. Can you say it again, a little bit more precisely. Thanks

| It possible when I was in Japan I could buy a new pw1 for 3300.00 from a
| dealer in Japan. So I know there some mark up left. The early pw1 would
not
| turn the tuner on in the amp. Meaning if you hit the power switch on your
756
| Pro II it also turns the tuner on the pw1 without powering up the amp.
early
| pw1 did not do this and I have seen them sell for 3000 . They cannot be
retro
| fitted but at 3280 for a new one you gotta check it out.
