I understand ... a manufacturer just buys a UL listed wall wart; and since
the output voltage is below x ( 70 ??) he does not submit his product to
UL. Since the PS is already listed. If you spend the $4000 to get your AC
product listed ( not approved) and then you make a small change on your
product I think you have to resubmit to UL all over again. To avoid this
problem back in the 70s most all the audio processor companies went to wall
warts.
Once it was standardized,,,the Pacific Rim started shipping,,, bingo low
prices.
