[Icom] IC 746 display problem

Have a look at the Yahoo 756 group.
The 746 screen is backlit with a CCFL tube, there was a similar problem
with an IC 756 which involved the failure of the HV supply circuit. It is
well documented in the 756 Group files area with schematics of the offending
components. if it is the tube then off the shelf replacements are available,
if its the HV inverting supply the one solution is to put an aftermarket
inverter in to run the tube.
