Well, the obvious question comes to mind. Are they (Lincoln)
saying that they will refuse to repair under warranty damage
done by owner installed equipment, or would they also refuse to
do warranty work for car system computer failure caused by
proximity to high power transmitters nearby?
As for the scooter stopping when you use a cell phone,
it is also very likely that the same scooter will stop
when you pass by someone else using a cell phone, which
could begin to make this a fairly dangerous item to have
be using, depending on how suddenly it stops.
Seems to me there is little difference between the
scooter stopping due to RF and a telephone picking
up RF, in the sense that neither are designed to work
around RF and it could be the manufacturer's responsibility
to make the device work in the normal RF environment.

Just for the heck of it, I tried the cell phone while riding on it and yeppers, it stopped running and the auto brakes came on. It just needed to be reset with the key switch. I believe them.
