Been there with a 95 Merc Sable..

Some years ago QST had a feature article on EMI issues associated with 
mobile installations.  The article included contact information for 
just about every automotive manufacturer.  You may want to give that a 
try.  Local dealers for most part don't want / can't be bothered.  
However, I recall some of the manufacturers had to address some of 
these concerns..so try to find the article and possibly contact Toyota 
USA for tech assistance.

Believe the article was from the early to mid-1990s.
