I never said it wouldn't work very well on the higher bands.  It does.  What I was
trying to say was that the AH-4 with a short antenna will cause more antenna
current at the base of the antenna if the antenna has some added inductance in it.
There's a limit to how much inductance you can put in the antenna if you expect
it to be resonated on the higher frequencies.  You are not going to get very good
performance on 10 meters from an antenna with a 40-meter loading coil half way
up.  But that same antenna will do very well with the AH-4 on 80 meters.
You could collect some empirical data, then figure out what it's trying to tell you.
