Hi Ian,
If I am not mistaken, you can slip the rubber grip off the knob body. This
will reveal two access holes for Allen grubscrews holding the knob to the
encoder shaft. I believe that you ill need a 2mm or 2.5mm Allen key to
release the screws.

Subject: [Icom] Icom IC775DSP
I have an Icom IC775DSP which has developed a fault in the rotary encoder,
(the master channel tuning knob).
I have removed the front panel and find the encoder is mounted on an
enclosed bearing. I suspect that the bearing has run dry of lubricant.
To carry out further inspection, I need to remove the main tuning knob. I
loosened and removed the tension adjustment screw but this did not allow the
knob to be removed.
I cannot see what is holding the knob on and therefore wonder if anyone can
provide me with the answer.
