[Icom] Icom 706 and Phone Patch

Has anyone ever tried hooking up a phone patch to the IC 706MKII?  I
have a MFJ 624D patch and cannot get it to work properly with the
radio....don't seem to be getting enough input signal back to the rig
(through the phone).  
 
Anyone have any experience with this?  I sure could use the help.
