I have learned that the difference between Japanese manufacturers and United
States manufacturers is that the Japanese advertise a concept and see how
many orders they get before they start production.  U.S. manufacturers build
50,000 of a product and then try to sell them.

Each has it good and bad points.  You may or may not get a new product from
the Japanese and many times the U.S. manufacturers just plain miss the
market and are stuck with product that cannot be sold.
