Howdy,

I have an IC-781, but it still has a lot of memories.

I am a military communications (MARS) operator. I put the
military freqs into one group of memories.

I operate several ham radio nets. I set them into a group of
memories.

I enjoy listening to SAR and Hurricane nets. I have several of
the most interesting freqs programmed into a group of memories.

I enjoy SWLing. I have my favorite SW broadcast freqs
programmed into a group of memories. (Especially the Latin jazz
from Radio Havana Cuba). Also, don't forget any AM-bcst
you might like to listen to when you are not on the air.

I do some 10m FM. Memory channels lend themselves quite
nice to the channelized 10m FM operation.

The uses for memories is limited only to your imagination. Yes,
I know for some people that is quite a limit. <grin> Hope my
info here has given you a start.
