The IC-2AT does not perform well on the BP-7. I have
seen cases where a BP-7 was attached to a 2AT and the
battery started humming.
The 2AT final transistor is rated for 11 volts
maximum.
But the 2AT is capable of outputing 5 watts with the
10.8 volt battery. There was a modification kit of a
metal heatsing to allow the extra power without frying
the finals.
Have adjusted many of the 2AT for 5 watts without the
heat sink, but caution the owners against using the
BP-5 10.8 volt battery.
Will give out about 3 watts with the BP-8. 8.4 volt
battery.
