Hi All,
Just because you can't get new info from ICOM America, does not mean that
ICOM Japan isn't "up to something".
I have found that many times ICOM USA does not know about a new model of
radio until the truck pulls up to the dock and out comes a new shipment.
Case in point, IC-756PRO II.
I can't confirm if this is by design or by default. ICOM Japan "is" in
charge anyway, if they choose not to tell ICOM USA about developments, that
is their option.
I find out about recent and future developments in ICOM radio by paying
close attention to the ICOM JA site, and a number of Japanese hams that
"leak" info to me.
I also get the "heads-up" from my friends at ICOM Canada, who seem to be
much better informed than the USA guys.

So, by "talking" with an ICOM USA Rep at a ham-fest, your not really
getting the full story of what is going on in Japan, where all these radios
are built.
I have also found that ICOM USA Reps have been fed mis-leading or
"dis-information" by ICOM JA, to throw them off scent, or send them on a
"snipe-hunt", keeping them away from the real story.
The true reasons for this, are only known by ICOM JA executives.
There is the possibility that ICOM JA is pro-active in attempting to
side-track competitors, who spy on them via the same routes your or I use.
Not much different from the way the CIA "leaks" dis-information, purposely
to confuse and deflect spy activity.

Adam Farson VA7OJ/AB4OJ, and myself, have predicted/forecast the arrival of
at least three of the latest models, from the info we gather, and also by
deductive reasoning, logical extrapolation, and pure luck. We were lucky
enough to correctly target the features these units would carry, site-unseen.
Stop in on my web site, and look at the "Rumor Mill", for the latest
"intel" on ICOM gear.
