The ram board is an issue in ALL 751s. All I am saying is that my 751A is
not old enough to worry about the battery. I saw somewhere (I don't remember
where) that the batter will last about 20 years. That was based on the
amount of current that the RAM draws.
If the battery goes dead, all you need to do is replace it. Then re-program
the radio with a few pushes of buttons.

It tells you how to replace the battery with ease.
I don't see any reason to replace the ram board in the radio. I wanted
computer control and the "band stacking" registers so that's why I put in
the UX-14 board.
Do I think you should put the Piexx ram board into the radio ? NO. I don't
think it's necessary. You can change the battery if your want. You should be
able to get a replacement at www.mouser.com or www.digikey.com
