[Icom] IC-211 Mods? Wanted ...

Hello and thanks for reading,
I have searched, but can not find the mods. i am looking for, nor do i know
that
they exist.
What i wish to do to my IC-211 is:
Disable the switch to 5 khz stepping above 146 mhz in the SSB mode.
-and-
What is the best place to obtain the voltage/current to switch an optocoupler
to provide an amplifier key line.  I have thought of using the current that
turns on the transmit indicator, but am not so sure that this is the best
'place'
to obtain it.
Additionally, if anyone has had experience with the Mutek front end boards,
i would appreciate their input.
