[Icom] IC-746 Audio for Digital Modes

I am setting up my IC-746 for PSK-31. If I read the manual correctly (Page 
72), the ACC(1) Connector is to have "AF Detector output -- fixed regardless 
of [AF] position." Actually, on my IC-746 (s/n 009968) the "fixed" output is 
directly related to the position of the front panel AF Gain control -- just 
the opposite of what the manual says. Makes for mighty loud PSK-31 listening 
unless the speaker is disconnected or otherwise muted!

Anyone experience this on the IC-746 or other Icom radios? I can't seem to 
find an alternate location for a fixed audio output.
