[Icom] Low power and Icom 706MKIIG

John I use the 706MKIIG and I have no problems with my Mirage 1016G. One
thing I do is to NOT USE the menu to lower the power. I keep all my
power levels on high and internally turn down the power to the right
level to drive my amp. This is a safeguard in case you reset the
processor and forget to set the level in the menu if you use that
method. No spike problems here. It may be in the menu part that senses a
command to lower power after the ptt is pressed that causes a spike,
just my guess. Anyway my method works well for me. 73 Rick K8DXN.
