Are you using FSK? FSK is the designer's intended mode for HF digital on
this radio. When I got mine a couple of years ago, there was talk of it not
working properly on PACTOR. Turns out _only_ guys trying to use AFSK were
having T/R timing problems with it.
A www.google.com groups search with keywords [problem pactor 706] might
turn up more.
