Same problem with mine.  Maximum audio was way too low.  I followed
a suggestion (ICOM maybe) and removed the rubber disk.  That didn't
work either.  It may be that the little hole between the mike element
and the frontspiece is too small.  I gave up and wired on a different
ICOM mike but I can't tell what the number was.  The number is on a
small 1 cm disk on the back.          73   Clete
