[Icom] Icom 756-Pro II audio/mic input alternatives

Well, the way I look at it let them experiment and have their fun hopefully
near 3.0 kc or less. That's what this hobby is all about. Some like CW, some
contesting etc. Personally I like nice clear audio with the highs slightly
accented along with a little fullness but not too much bass. I hate that
flat dull muddy sound that some seem to be striving to get .........kinda
like low order distortion and Yep! when conditions are marginal I am sure
it's harder to understand but then the one's I hear are simply talking on a
nightly roundtable and appear to be hearing each other very well so it
appears their signals are strong enough for their experimentation.

Funny thing 15 or so years ago I was really into narrow filter cascading and
did quite a bid of experimentation in this area trying to find just the
right bandwidth and cascading combination. Now I can't stand to listen to
anything less than 2.1 kc.

This is all suppose to be fun whether you are into audio, cw, antenna's,
digital, kit building, contesting etc.

It's all about the individual operator.running your pro out 3.0 will do
nothing to punch your audio through,furtermore if your signal is down due to
band conditions or whatever your not going to sound all that good.(muddy)now
if you ragchew with a net (14.178) and alway's deliver a 20 over signal then
i myself would run super wide and push up the high and low's to max.But it
just doesn't work that way in the real ham world.unless your stacking huge
monobander's up 120 feet with a gallon and a half behind that.that's not
feasable to 90% of all hams.so narrow the banwidth and adjust the bass and
treble to moderate level's.you will be heard better.
