Larry, take your mixer/EQ output into the ACC1 connector - the improvement
in transmit audio will be considerable. It is true that you have no VOX
available, but the PTT function is independent of audio source so you will
not lose it at all.
I have used this approach with my PRO for about a year now and it really
makes a difference. I would not consider using the mic input any more. The
ACC1 input has a better frequency response and much less distortion and
noise.
Not sure about what you mean about conflicting info in the manual - I will
be glad to answer any questions that I can on this.
