I can speak only for the PRO, but since the PRO II has a much longer list
of CI-V commands, the programs that I recommend can only do a better job
with the PRO II.

I use MixW for the digital modes and it does an excellent job of
controlling the radio, both by internal CAT commands and a rich macro
language.

For complete remote control, I use the TRX-Manager program. It has a very
good keyboard memory keyer for CW which allows for complete weighting
control. This feature compensates for the usually shortened dits in Full
QSK operation of the PRO.

Both programs require registration, but my experience with them as well as
most of the others has been that the added capabilities and stability are
well worth the modest fees.
