I own a 746Pro and am very pleased with its performance. If memory
serves me correct in the QST review and extended lab tests the Pro,
ProII, and 746 Pro had very close specs. The 746 Pro does have the
newest processor of the three even though the ads call it the same. I
like the vhf all mode aspect of the rig myself even though some of my
"buddys" are starting to sway me into HF 'testing. It looks like it
boils down to features and money. I chose to get the newest model and
save a grand over the ProII. That money could be put toward an antenna
system where you will really "see" some actual performance increases. My
thoughts on the matter, 73s Rick K8DXN
