You can control an arbitrary number of Icom radios from any
properly-designed CI-V interface.

There are several software applications that will control Icom radios.
Commander is optimized for DXing -- it interoperates with most other
members of the DXLab suite, all of which are free and available via
www.qsl.net/dxlab .

Commander is not a "front panel replacement" for the 746 or 756PRO,
though it does provide enough functionality to support remote operation
(e.g. via the internet) for those Icom radios that can be keyed via
their CI-V interface.

I am not sure I know the CT-17 well enough -- does this allow
several rigs at the same time? And, what is the control software?
I will be using a 706MKIIG and a 756ProII and am looking for VERY
extensive control. What does the software provide?
