Steve...
I currently own both a 1000D, and a PRO.
What I like about the 1000D is that it is big and heavy, has a nice flywheel
effect tuning knob, and has 200 watts.
The PRO is more fun, but as far as which has the better receiver....I have
not set them up with test instruments, so my old TS820 seems fine to me.
Oh, one more thing.... the 1000D's notch is garbage compared to the pro. And
in very poor band condx, with lots of QRM....you have more chance of
accurate copy with the the many features of the PRO.
....Dave
