[Icom] Icom 756 Pro II and which mic to use.

Hi Larry,
I have tried many mics on my IC-756 and I prefer the SM-20 or the Heil HMi. 
However the HMi ONLY works in the wide position not the narrow!! Bob Heil is 
supposed to be coming out with an even better solution for the Icoms 
shortly. I do not like the SM-8 or the SM-6 with my 756. BEWARE, the 
internal EQ is much different between the SM-20 and the Heil. I use +4 bass 
and +6 treble on the SM-20 and +2 bass and +8 treble on the Heil. Of course 
you will be different than me. I always set up my mic to sound good through 
the monitor then get on the air with someone who knows me, and get there 
opinion on what sounds the most natural NOT what sounds the loudest, or 
coolest, or most anything. I get audio compliments all the time, on sounding 
like I'm sitting in the room ect. not your LOUD here.......regards  Greg

Hi to all,

I have the pro 2 and wonder which mic other icom and/or pro 2 users have
found, in their opinion of course, to be the best. I have been looking at 
the
heil hm-i and the gold line with the preamp. I use the stock mic now and a
old azden headset with the preamp box.
