Why don't you just buy a nice FT1000D or FT1000 and put some nice N-rad
filters in it and have a really nice radio instead of buying the troubled
FT1000MP Mark what ever. The Mark series FT1000MP is just a polished up more
expensive FT1000MP which contrary to popular belief, was not a replacement
to the great and still made FT1000D. I personally did not like the Icom Pro
series of radios for HF use but do own their UHF/VHF gear and like it a lot.
A lot of Icom Pro users claim it is the best radio they have ever owned, but
I would be curious to see if they have ever owned anything but Icom HF gear.
If not that is a pretty weak statement with no offense intended. The recent
QST review bore that out. 73 and good luck with what ever you buy, just have
fun and instead of listening to other people's opinion, try and go to a ham
store and hear one for yourself in side by side comparisons if you can.
E-ham also has some good reviews under the Product review section. Steve
