Since you're already inside the speaker Rick, try filling it with some house
insulation.  You can probably pick it up for free at any construction site
by just asking for scraps.  You may notice a nice increase in fidelity.

I guess the bad news is that the $20 speaker didn't make much difference
compared to the SP-21,
and worse news is that the $20 speaker didn't make much difference compared
to the SP-21  <g>. 
Oh well, at least the SP-21 matches your 746.  But so did the black
Pro-X33A's.
