[Icom] Question about ICOM HS-51 Headset

ICOM  HS-51 Headset

I got an ICOM HS-51 VOX headset but no documentation and I 
cannot figure out how the earpiece attaches to the headband.  I've 
searched through the Icom website and used Google to search the 
'net but I've been unable to get a good, up close picture of this part of 
the headset. Most pictures I find show the actual earpiece on a 6 inch 
cable hanging loose from the headset which is how mine also looks.  
Looking at the piece which should hold the earpiece between the 
headset and the ear, I see two plastic pieces with an 1/8" gap 
between them.  Either the earpiece attaches in a way which I cannot 
figure or I am missing a piece which goes between them.

Can anyone give me a word description on how that earpiece is held 
in place to the headset?  I would be forever grateful.
