[Icom] IC-706 MK II Slow Tuning Problem

Hello Jerry,
    You did not specify which mode you're in when experiencing this slow 
tuning.  I'm going to assume you're in the "FM" mode because that is the 
only mode that seems to fit your description comparing it to my IC-706 
MKIIG.   When in FM mode if you press and hold the "TS" (Tuning Speed) 
button just below the "MODE" button you should get a tuning rate 
display.  At that point rotate the main tuning dial and select the 
tuning rate you want.
    Hope that is the only problem.
