Marty, when I use the HMi with the 756proII I set the mic gain to 10-11
o'clock...no compression.......wide filter
....Bass 0 Treble +3 and the ALC action is fine. I use a foam breath blast
filter over the head of the mic and talk about 2 to 2 1/2 inches from it.
The audio reports have been fine.

Hello all,

I have an Icom 756Pro and find that I have to turn the mike gain almost all
the way up in order to get the proper alc level. I use -2 bass and +4.
Also, I have used the narrow and wide positions and no matter... I get
reports of a hollow type sound by some. Does anyone have the HM-1 and if
so....how well does it work and what type of audio reports do you get
